charreria is the national sport of mexico, the precurser to western rodeo, and a timeless tradition which is practiced throughout colorado and other states in the us.

la famila charra

in 2019 and 2020, i received a grant to for my film, la famila charra, to be shown as part of the side stories colorado film festival. the short film, cinematic views of the charro community, was shown as a large scale projection on various walls throughout the community including a turn of the century grain elevator, the dairy block neighborhood and at the history colorado center in denver.

the big picture

the work was featured in the big picture colorado, an effort to get art out into the community.
the photographs were printed large and wheat pasted throughout various communities in colorado and beyond.
